CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is one of the most prestigious exams for admission to
law schools in India. The scores are accepted in 24 NLU’s (except NLU Delhi) and many law
colleges as well.
To apply for CLAT 2018, aspirants must have passed their Class 12 board exams with at
least 45% (SC/ST: 40%). However, candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are
also eligible to apply for the test. The CLAT exam is conducted by one of the participating
national law universities on a rotational basis.
This exam is held in offline mode ie. Pen and paper format. CLAT for UG Courses consists
of five sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal
Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques. The test is timed 120 minutes and
consists of 120 questions as per the new format. The marking system is for each correct
answer one mark is given to the candidates, and 0.25 marks are deducted from their total
score for each wrong answer.

This exam is usually held in November/December. The application process starts from July
